Tree of Life Academy is a small Christ-centered homeschool academy focused on providing hands-on, nature rich learning on a 10-acre property, with a 690sq ft classroom (walkout finished basement) in Raymore, MO. We are looking for a teacher to teach our core academic block on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays 9:30am-noon for our combined Kindergarten-2nd grade class. This includes teaching language arts, reading, and math from a curriculum of our choosing (likely The Good and The Beautiful) in a one-room schoolhouse type format, with a teacher assistant to help in any way needed such as leading activities or or direct support for individual learners. 7.5 teaching hours per week plus 1 paid planning hour per week
31-34 week academic year (August 17-May 12)
$20-$30/hour
Tree of Life Academy is a small Christ-centered homeschool academy focused on providing hands-on, nature rich learning on a 10-acre property, with a 690sq ft classroom (walkout finished basement) in Raymore, MO. We are looking for a teacher to teach our cross curricular afternoon enrichment block on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays 12:00-2:30pm for our combined Kindergarten-2nd grade class. Our lunch hour 12-1pm incorporates a time of exploratory play (outdoors as often as possible) followed by afternoon unit studies that offer a blend of cross-curricular enrichment, homesteading sciences/outdoor skills, STEM activities, history and additional reading/writing opportunities. We intend to add unit studies loosely based on student interests as the year progresses. All of this will happen outside as much as possible (with students and instructors always being prepared with weather appropriate gear). Parent Assistant
Partial day and full day options
31-34 week academic year (August 17-May 12)
$20/hour
We wish to maintain a low student to teacher ratio and will utilize parent assistants to accomplish this goal for both our academic morning sessions and our afternoon unit study sessions. This position will include helping the academic instructor in the morning with our one-room schoolhouse format by leading activities for breakout learning times and one-on-one student assistance. For the afternoon session, this role will support the lead instructor in lesson plans, activities and student assistance.
